The top photo above is how the inside of the side sills where the exhaust is supposed to look.
The second photo above shows how it looked as the side sill was removed after the pipe clamp to the passenger side exhaust failed to hold the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter together which caused a major exhaust leak and melted metal parts to be found in the side sill.
Larry knew the car was a street car that did occassional racing and needed the expensive Random Tech Metal Substrate High Flow Catalytic Converters to be on the car due to Federal EPA Rules about removing the catalytic converters on a newer car. Larry said they had to be removed or he couldn't tune the car. He removed them and delivered the car running horrible July 1, 2006. The car went back to him for a second chance and was returned February 2007 running horrible with the catalytic converters back on. Larry had given up on tuning it with the Roe VEC2 and put in the AEM system and still couldn't tune it. If only Larry had checked the pushrod length (they were 1/4" too long) and checked the valve pre-load on the roller rockers (they were 2 full turns too much), he could have tuned the car fairly easily using the VEC2 that the customer already had installed in it. No matter what Larry did, the valves almost never were closed and the car would only run close to right at full throttle, and never even close to right at part throttle.
The 2 photos side by side below show where the exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter came apart. The clamp did not hold simply because it was not even finger tight! It could be easily spun with a light flick of a finger and it would completely circle the exhaust pipe. Also notice the side sill heat insulation was destroyed by Macedo's No Limit Quality of Build. It cost over $1,000 to fix the damage, but to do it right will require spending another $1,500 for the factory heat shields plus labor. The $600 catalytic converters can also be added to the total - they were ruined by the excessively rich air/fuel tune by Macedo.

Here are some photos below of the interior damage the car got while at Macedo Motorsports. The transmission console was $800 and the other damaged panels (not yet replaced due to running out of money to fix Macedo's No Limit Quality) are close to $500 each to replace. The ripped up carpet is an unknown $because the seats and rollbar will have to be taken out to replace it. The last photo shows the drivers seat starting to be wore through by the roll bar side bar anchor point. Thank you, Larry!
